LOVE the new songs, can't wait for the release of your 2nd solo album. Was fortunate enough to see you perform in Chicago a few years ago. You are a truly talented songwriter and have one of the most hauntingly beautiful voices around. Hope you never stop making music.

Cane across The Prayer Boat when performing Madame Butterfly in Chicago in 04, friend of mine from Lancashire who lives in Chicago bought me the CD as he had seen you in concert. Your music travels with me and when anyone asks what do Opera singers listen to when it's not Opera I always tell them about Emmet Tinley/Prayer boat and your amazing voice. Lyrics and song structure is rare to find these days. Please keep writing and releasing your music.

Excited about the new demos, and the new album. Absolutely loved Polichinelle and Attic Faith. I can listen to these albums endlessly. Oceanic Feeling not in the same league for me, but I suppose that was almost 20 years ago. You're forgiven!

Oh and we risked life and limb making the trip from Ireland to the Paradiso in December and it was worth it. Great show and the snow outside just seemed so...appropriate somehow. Couple of Paddies who nearly died from exposure in Dam Square!! Got back home safe too so overall a very memorable Christmas!

Spot on about the snow Rudi, me and a friend were booked to fly to Amsterdam for the Paradiso gig, but flight was cancelled due to snow at the airport!

When I got home and fired up my car, the CD randomly picked out 'Snow Dome'. Had to laugh, but was gutted we couldn't see the gig.

I bought Polichinelle many years ago, and recently pulled it out and rediscovered it's immense beauty, especially the extremely emotional title cut. I can relate to it VERY closely. Just tremendous stuff. I've now ordered Attic Faith, and from the samples just now digested, look forward with great anticipation it's delivery. Thanks for such wonderful, feeling music!

I fell in love to Oceanic Feeling in Dublin 1991. Ordered the cassette in Australia from OS as it wasnt released there then! Had a colleague mention you today, and spun out....still smile thinking of your song. I closed my eyes and remembered the feeling of being love for the first time all over again, amazing that music can invoke that.
Thank you.

Polichenelle is probably my favourite album by any Irish artist. Saw the Prayer Boat play live in Galway several times around that album, including a tiny and almost bereft gig in the Town Hall Theatre. I may also be one of the few people who have an original cassette of The Oceanic Feeling album which is not bad. The lyricism of the lyrics and honesty and pitch of emotion in the songs, particularly on Polichenelle make them timeless. I hope The Prayer Boat are somehow rediscovered - it's a terrible injustice that they were so overlooked commercially given the combination of talent they represented.

March 28, 2008

Saw the prayer boat in Temple Bar in 1999. The hairs are still standing on the back of my neck. Polichinelle is still perfect.

Iv had the pleasure of seeing Emmett twice live. Other than that he is is on my stereo every day. He plays the most heartfelt, beautifull, inspiring, relaxing, thoughtfull and fabulous music that I have ever heard and I am a big music fan in general. He is unique in what he does and nobody could ever imitate or come to his music.
